We traveled the state of Florida to find it. The property is covered in majestic oaks. We found our ‘perfect enchanted forest’ in Venus. It’s classic Old Florida. Only 15 minutes from Lake Placid which was named the ‘Most Interesting Small Town in America’ by Readers Digest. Our guests can enjoy our fun 18′ potoon boat and cool 40′ Cruiser that are moored at a country marina near-by. We are all about just relaxing and enjoying mother nature and all it’s healing power. Animal lovers are in for a special treat.

Our ‘country cool’ residences are located in a wonderful 20 acre petting zoo with a variety of amazing animals that are roaming free. Family members have unlimited access to ride, feed and enjoy our wonderful horses. Free riding lessons for beginners. It’s unusually comfy and cozy farm life. Everyone loves making friends with all of their four-legged neighbors and a few chickens, ducks, and geese as well. Perfect setting to create lifetime memories with family members. Guests love everything included in our daily rates starting at $139.

It’s really fun breeding miniature horses and miniature donkeys. There is terrific kayaking, fishing and seeing wild animals in a wonderful reserve just minutes from the farm.

The Animal Lover’s Farm address is 4 Rimes Road. Venus, FL 33960. Very close to Old State Road and 731. We are the first entrance on the right as you turn on Rimes Road. The big sign reads Animal Lovers Farm.

Check-in is at 4:00 pm, and Check-out is at 11:00 am.

All our activities will keep everyone entertained whether it’s a one day visit or a months stay. You can create ‘ultra relaxation’ or a heart stopping ‘adrenaline rush’. Imagine filling the vacation day calendar for the whole family with unlimited access to these fun activities…

1. Enjoy our friendly horses. Whether it’s watching, feeding, petting or riding. 
Our horses are very gentle and love guests…. especially if you have treats. The farm is a beautiful property to explore and a real adventure for beginners (we have a horse handler to help with beginners) and real fun for experienced riders. This is beautiful Old Florida…. a horse lovers heaven. By the way, kids under 100 pounds love riding our beloved donkeys… a sight to see.

2. Our bright and cheery ‘Chicken Shack’ is flat-out fun. It’s the farm ‘hang-out’. We spoil our feathered friends. They free range and eat very well. When guests feed them treats, it’s a high energy event. Every morning, after Rob the rooster crows, guests are invited to visit the ‘Chicken Shack’ and gather fresh eggs. We like to say our ‘pets will make your breakfast’. There are swings and a trampoline nearby. 

3. Everyone loves a campfire. The perfect place for families to truly connect with each other. People love seeing the happy glow of faces, young or old, as they gather around a roaring campfire. Laughing, eating and telling stories…..this is….as good as it gets. We take pride in the natural beauty of our firepit setting with it’s easy outdoor grilling. But be aware….you may have a few 4-legged guests crash your party unannounced. Better have carrot treats ready. 

4. Enjoy great fishing from our very cool boat in a majestic old Florida setting. The Glades Marina is less then an hour from the farm. Here Henry Ford and his pal Thomas Edison, visited their favorite spot to play cards. We keep a 40′ Silverton Cruiser in the marina for guests to kayak, fish and party. You can fish from the boat or just chill-out with a cold one on the aft deck. The rustic marina atmosphere creates a peaceful vibe. The boat has air conditioning, streaming television, a small refrigerator and microwave. Plenty of room for 10 people to picnic on board. Guests can grill, swim or play golf. The marina offers a well maintained pool that includes locker rooms and showers.

Yes! Pets are welcome at all of the Animal Lovers Farm cabins. They might even make a farm animal friend while they’re here!

Yes, we have high speed Wifi available to guests. Wifi instructions are posted on the refrigerator

Yes! For experienced riders the horses are available between 10:00am and 5:00pm. For inexperienced riders and if you need help, someone will be available most days between 10:00am and 12:00pm (call before).

I've stayed at dozens of Airbnbs and this one was, by far, the best. Animal Lover's Farm is so much more than accommodations, it's a fully immersive nature experience. When we arrived, three miniature donkeys were standing by the front door to welcome us. The cabin is quant and charming, full of Native American Art and decorative touches. The fully screened front porch was a great place for morning coffee or evening glass of wine. The bed was super comfortable and an unexpected bonus was taking a soak in the hot tub and gazing up at the stars. Loved the free roaming chickens and wild turkeys, it was like an easter egg hunt every morning. Highlight of the trip was helping care for the horses and taking Old Red for a leisurely stroll around the property. Mike and Jane are so friendly and welcoming, they exude southern hospitality. Caretaker Aaron and Housekeeper Maureen were super helpful and accommodating too. Animal Lovers Farm is truly special place and I hope to come again.

What can I say! This place is an oasis! So calming and absolutely beautiful! The owners were accommodating and polite! We didn’t want to leave! The animals were friendly and the bonus was we were able to ride their beautiful horse red all around the property. You can’t find places like this anywhere. We will definitely be back! Thank you for everything! You truly are blessed if you’re able to stay here for even just one night. Thanks Michael!!!

What a charming place to stay! The cabin was clean, comfortable, and well decorated. It was a perfect combination of a camping like experience and a comfortable hotel room. Host Michael was responsive and friendly. Farm hand Aaron went way out of his way to make us feel welcome and help us with whatever we needed. We loved being so close to the animals! Looking forward to staying here again our next time thru the area.

So serene! Glamping was great and the animals roaming all around were pure joy! So many lil activities to do on the property, private tubs, swings and hammocks, horseback ride, fish at the pond, get eggs from the Chicken Shack in the morning! Really enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely gorgeous! The animals were so friendly and cute! Donkeys were a constant visitor at "The Bunkhouse". We got some rain during our stay and it was so relaxing to listen to it hit the tin roof while sitting on the porch. Perfect way to spend our mini honeymoon. Aaron, the farm helper, was fantastic! The horses, especially Big Red, were wonderful for letting us ride her. We also loved spending time with the donkeys, goats, ducks, and chickens. We enjoyed fishing and taught my 6-year-old how to fish; we caught and released 20 little bluegill. We will definitely go there again!

A wonderful place for the kids and nature-lovers. The fully stocked pond on-site was great for my little ones to catch their first fish and I enjoyed the horse riding and fresh eggs daily. We also went kayaking at the local river which was complimentary and easy, even with little ones. Would definitely consider returning.

I cannot say enough great things about this property or our stay. Check in was easy. Jane the co-host was friendly and accommodating. The Bunkhouse where we stayed was clean and well decorated.
